Ed, founder of Axis Innovation, brings a unique perspective to growth stage startups seeking to find appropriate international partners as he has been an investor, entrepreneur and mentor during his career.
Prior to Axis, Ed co-founded Bootcamp Ventures, which connects promising early stage startups with global partners by securing financing rounds, strategic partnerships and business development deals with global investors.
Prior to Bootcamp, Ed was CEO of IDT Ventures, the corporate venture capital division of IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT) which invests in high tech startups worldwide including Hopstop (acquired by Apple) and LateNiteLabs (acquired by Macmillan). In addition, Ed has managed international technology joint ventures, M&A activities and strategic investments.
Ed believes that encouraging entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams beginning at a young age can make a difference in the world and has been a mentor for high school and college entrepreneurs; beyond the college level Ed has also been a mentor in the US, Europe and Asia with IBM Smartcamp, Le Camping, Kotra, Mass Challenge and the IDC.
Ed has an MBA and BS in Engineering, both from Columbia University.
Lian is the Business Development Manager for Axis Innovation, responsible for building relations with partners and focusing on new strategic initiatives.
Lian is part of the founding team at Axis Innovation and manages the marketing and branding efforts of the company as well as building relationships with partners from Israel, Paris, Istanbul and Singapore.
She was previously Marketing Manager at Bootcamp Ventures where she managed all aspects of the companies brand. She also played a great role in the conference logistics and organization in 4 different countries.
Lian recently moved to Israel from Los Angeles and spends a great deal of time in between these exciting cities.
Lian speaks fluent Hebrew and English with conversational Farsi. She received her B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Jason is the event manager for Axis Tel Aviv, responsible for startup relations and investor outreach. He is part of the founding team at Axis Innovation and manages deal flow between investors and portfolio companies from Israel, Europe, Turkey, and assists in new strategic initiatives and partnerships.
Jason brings experience in both the private and public sector having worked in entrepreneurship, business development, and government.
He was previously an associate at Bootcamp Ventures helping launch global startup events in 4 countries and worked with leading Israeli startups and international investors.
Jason received his B.A. with honors in business economics and international relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
Omer is the Media Manager for Axis Innovation and part of the founding team. Omer joined the Axis Innovation team in October 2013 and works on media management and marketing, research, outreach to sponsors, and customer relationship management.
Born in Israel but raised in the U.S, Omer brings his multinational background to the team. In his spare time Omer enjoys reading, cooking, and keeping fit.
David is the Investor Outreach Manager for Axis Innovation. David has extensive business experience in both traditional and high-tech companies. He received his MBA from Purdue University and performed management consulting projects for multi-national corporations, primarily in the areas of organization and operations.
In the high-tech world David has held positions in leading-edge companies and also performed investor searches and acquisition projects for a number of companies.
Melis is the Communications Manager for Axis innovation, responsible for managing the internal and external relationships of the company. She plays an active role in planning, implementing and supervising all communication actions of Axis Innovation such as initiating and maintaining relationships with prestigious partners, sponsors, customers, global investors, start-ups and media. She is also in charge of the logistics and other arrangements for our conferences that take place in Tel Aviv, Paris and Istanbul.
Melis was born in Izmir, Turkey and moved to Israel in 2011 to pursue her B.A. in Communications at IDC Herzliya. She specialized in Interactive Communications, which focuses on human-computer interaction and online behaviors.She is fluent in Turkish and French while learning Hebrew and Chinese.
She is passionate about environmental issues and fascinated by different cultures. She believes that big smiles bring positive energy into any environment.
